This exhibition of modern art has something for everyone to enjoy. The students from Sacramento City College really gave this exhibition some thought. I say this because of the array of objects they brought together to put in one exhibition.

If you like drawings, paintings, pottery or three dimensional objects to name a few, this exhibition is for you. Below is one example of a drawing I enjoyed.
Samantha Hughston looking at a drawing of ink on paper.

Here is a close of the drawing I am looking at.

The artist is Joseph Jacob and the piece is titled Metamorphosis.
As I stared at this piece I began to wonder how Jacob decided on this transformation. Jacob definitely captured the essence of the word metamorphosis when he drew this piece. Maybe I watch too much science fiction because I could see this change occurring in the human anatomy in some alien movie.

Oil painting on canvas, by Marissa Provost. Untitled Self Portrait.
This oil painting intrigued me because of the artists’ choice of how she painted the background. I could feel the movement in her choice of brush strokes. The painting reminded me of how one gets an itchy spot on ones back and you just can’t reach it. I am confident that is not the artists’ intention however, that was all I could think of when I looked at the artwork.

The picture below is for the three dimensional folks out there wanting to enjoy some fine sculptures.

The artworks are titled Warriors. The artist's are Jeffrey Beemer, Madison Farwell, Christine Pantoja, Candice Phillips, Armando Vela & Jazmine Whitehorst. The sculptures are made from wood, plaster, chicken wire, paint and found objects.

This next artwork beautifully demonstrates the art of foreshortening in a painting. The color choices are vibrant and depict a happy go lucky individual on graduation day. This painting gives the viewer the sense of pride and accomplishment.

Untitled, by Bobby Juarez. Acrylic on canvas.

Fine craftsmanship went into creating this three piece pottery trio. The color choices are welcoming for steeping a cup or two of tea.

This trio is untitled, by Elke Gomez and is ceramic pottery.

The final picture I want to share expresses how I felt while looking at all the various pieces of artwork in this exhibit. I was blown away by the diversity and talent of these artists and was very happy I went and saw their works. I hope some of you will take time from your busy schedules to go and see this exhibit.
